To be an AGENT
An Agent is an individual registered to transact insurance business. An agent does not necessarily need to possess any technical background in insurance. Hence such other professionals like Lawyers, Architects, Surveyors etc could equally act as agents.
To be an agent, the intending agent will file an application with any insurance company of his/her choice indicating willingness to transact insurance business for that company. The insurance company will in turn forward the application to the National Insurance Commission for ratification after due observation. Agency licenses are renewed annually.font>
