JOB OBJECTIVE 

The Position Holder is responsible for analysis of securities data target industries, markets, and capital markets.  Because deep knowledge and experience are important for maximizing value, we are looking for candidates who are interested in growing with our team with a minimum of 3 years experience 

The holder will adopt a consultative approach within Leadway’s associated companies, Portfolio Managers and Client Advisors to provide insight across all global asset classes and product types including individual securities, mutual funds, ETFs, direct private investments, real estate. 

DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB: 

Leadway’s research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS 
 

  1. Financial Statement Analysis and Modeling – working knowledge of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. The holder will be responsible for collecting market data & trend-spotting on various classes of security instruments, and their transformation into actionable information through fundamental, technical, and quantitative analysis,
  2. Communicate investment ideas and themes that meet investment objectives in periodic research notes with the aim of supporting investment decision-making by both internal and external clientele 
  3. Carry out company visits, management meetings and other field work necessary to gather information and build robust library of company financial spreadsheets. Modeling sophisticated financial instruments to determine value and Completing complex analytical projects
  4. Support Associated Companies: Develop customized marketing documents, and research for the purpose of sales pitches to prospective institutional clients. The Position Holder is also expected to actively participate in firmwide initiatives. \Product Development: Contribute to the creation, or modification the company’s product offerings with the objective of providing new or additional benefits to customers, as well as enhancing the company’s competitiveness and market dominance.

KNOWLEDGE ,SKILLS AND BEHAVIOUR (Required to succeed in Role) 
Educational qualifications  & functional / technical skills 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject with Second class upper 
  • A professional qualification of CFA or masters degree in a related finance course would be beneficial 
  • Ability to articulate an opinion and present ideas in a concise manner both orally and in written formAbility to multi-task in a highly visible fast-paced and team-oriented environment  
  • Excellent knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet or any data analytics suit.   
  • MS skills and exposure to investment software 
Relevant experience (type of experience and minimum number of years 
  • Minimum of 3 years in investment research

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, multiple priorities, and demanding customers, in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment.
