Art insurance in Nigeria is a relative newcomer to the insurance space in Nigeria. Typically insureds would throw these together in a general property or all risk insurance policy if they have one in place. The challenge with these covers, however, is the likelihood that the policy specifically excludes cover for risks which art pieces would be exposed.

What the discerning owner or seller of artwork would do is employ a tailored art insurance policy to cover the specific risk that his/her pieces would be exposed to, benefitting from the underwriting capacity we can provide in this regard.

We are excited to be championing insurance partnerships with owners of artwork and collectible objects and helping them see how they could benefit from an Art Insurance policy.

Art insurance is a bespoke policy providing coverage which is better adapted to the risks of owning and/or exhibiting art and collectible items over a conventional household, property or all-risk policy, even with declared values.
