The Leadway Smart Cash Plan is a one year (renewable) savings plan specially designed for persons who want to save towards a short term goal and also want financial protection for their loved one(s) in the event of death occurs that is caused by natural causes, accident or COVID-19.

At the end of the policy term (i.e. the one year duration), the accumulated amount in the policyholder’s savings account is automatically paid into the bank account provided at inception of the policy.

DETAILS

This plan unlike most of the other savings plans has a one year policy term that can be renewed based on customer’s preference. This makes it perfect for your short term goals.

This plan offers a competitive interest rate that is benchmarked against the average Nigerian Bank Savings Rate (BSR).

Whilst this product has an exclusion for deaths caused by pandemics, it pays a free Life Cover benefit of N250,000 should death occur as a result of COVID-19 infection.

Apart from your savings contributions, the policy offers you a life cover against death due to natural causes, accident or COVID-19. The mandatory Life Cover under this plan provides benefits ranging from N500,000 to N2,000,000.

If the policy holder passes away, a lump sum death benefit will be paid to the policyholder’s beneficiary/(ies) along with the accumulated savings and accrued interest in the policyholder’s account.

There are 2 elements of premiums to be paid. The Life Cover Premium Premiums: (LCP) and the Savings Contribution (SC). The Life Cover Premium is paid in full at commencement of the policy (and at every renewal if the policy term is renewed after the first year) in addition to the first instalment of the Savings Contribution (SC).

After the initial first payment being a combination of the LCP and the SC, only the SC will then be paid in regular instalments through-out the policy year.

Savings contributions can be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Monthly and quarterly payments are to be made through bank transfers, our website, direct debit mandate or your bank mobile app.
